“You may dislike something although it is good for you, or like something, although it is bad for you” – Qur’an (2:216)

But when it's put into a simple list, It iss easier to slowly implement into our daily lives. So, here I am sharing these in a series in hopes it may help the next person who reads this. Regardless if you are muslim or not.The text will be written like this:
The teaching (Surah:Ayat)
"The quoted ayat"
To keep it simple and not too lengthy, I will do each post with 7. So there should be around 11 posts in total, I will try to do 1 each week, inshallah.Transliteration is The Clear Quran from Dr. Mustafa Khattab

Don't lie (22:30)
"That is so. And whoever honours the rituals of Allah, it is best for them in the sight of their Lord. The ˹meat of˺ cattle has been made lawful for you, except what has ˹already˺ been recited to you.1 So shun the impurity of idolatry, and shun words of falsehood."
••••••••••••Don't spy (49:12)
"O believers! Avoid many suspicions, ˹for˺ indeed, some suspicions are sinful. And do not spy, nor backbite one another. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of their dead brother? You would despise that!1 And fear Allah. Surely Allah is ˹the˺ Accepter of Repentance, Most Merciful."
••••••••••••Don't exult (28:76)
"But when Moses came to them with Our clear signs, they said ˹arrogantly˺, “This is nothing but conjured magic ˹tricks˺. We have never heard of this in ˹the history of˺ our forefathers.”
••••••••••••Don't insult (49:11)
"O believers! Do not let some ˹men˺ ridicule others, they may be better than them, nor let ˹some˺ women ridicule other women, they may be better than them. Do not defame one another, nor call each other by offensive nicknames. How evil it is to act rebelliously after having faith! And whoever does not repent, it is they who are the ˹true˺ wrongdoers."
••••••••••••Don't waste (17:26)
"Give to close relatives their due, as well as the poor and ˹needy˺ travellers. And do not spend wastefully."
••••••••••••Feed the poor (22:36)
"We have made sacrificial camels ˹and cattle˺ among the symbols of Allah, in which there is ˹much˺ good for you. So pronounce the Name of Allah over them when they are lined up ˹for sacrifice˺. Once they have fallen ˹lifeless˺ on their sides, you may eat from their meat, and feed the needy—those who do not beg, and those who do. In this way We have subjected these ˹animals˺ to you so that you may be grateful."
••••••••••••Don't backbite (104:1)
"Woe to every backbiter, slanderer,"

Leaving a little note here: There are many times multiple ayats will cover each rule. I have only shared one from each, and if you're interested I encourage you to read the Quran.

Keep your oaths (5:89)
"Allah will not call you to account for your thoughtless oaths, but He will hold you accountable for deliberate oaths. The penalty for a broken oath is to feed ten poor people from what you normally feed your own family, or to clothe them, or to free a bondsperson. But if none of this is affordable, then you must fast three days. This is the penalty for breaking your oaths. So be mindful of your oaths. This is how Allah makes things clear to you, so perhaps you will be grateful."
••••••••••••Don't take bribes (27:36)
"When the chief-envoy came to him, Solomon said, “Do you offer me wealth? What Allah has granted me is far greater than what He has granted you. No! It is you who rejoice in ˹receiving˺ gifts."
••••••••••••Honor your treaties (9:4)
"As for the polytheists who have honoured every term of their treaty with you and have not supported an enemy against you, honour your treaty with them until the end of its term. Surely Allah loves those who are mindful ˹of Him˺."
••••••••••••Restrain your anger (3:134)
"˹They are˺ those who donate in prosperity and adversity, control their anger, and pardon others. And Allah loves the good-doers."
••••••••••••Don't spread gossip (24:15)
"when you passed it from one tongue to the other, and said with your mouths what you had no knowledge of, taking it lightly while it is ˹extremely˺ serious in the sight of Allah."
••••••••••••Think good of others (24:12)
If only the believing men and women had thought well of one another, when you heard this ˹rumour˺, and said, “This is clearly ˹an outrageous˺ slander!”
••••••••••••Be good to guests (51:24-27)
"Has the story of Abraham’s honoured guests reached you ˹O Prophet˺? ˹Remember˺ when they entered his presence and greeted ˹him with˺, “Peace!” He replied, “Peace ˹be upon you˺!” ˹Then he said to himself,˺ “˹These are˺ an unfamiliar people.” Then he slipped off to his family and brought a fat ˹roasted˺ calf, and placed it before them, asking, “Will you not eat?”

Don't harm believers (33:58)
"As for those who abuse believing men and women1 unjustifiably, they will definitely bear the guilt of slander and blatant sin."
••••••••••••
Don't be rude to parents (17:23)
"For your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And honour your parents. If one or both of them reach old age in your care, never say to them ˹even˺ ‘ugh,’ nor yell at them. Rather, address them respectfully."
••••••••••••Turn away from ill speech (23:3)
"those who avoid idle talk;"
••••••••••••Don't make fun of others (49:11)
"O believers! Do not let some ˹men˺ ridicule others, they may be better than them, nor let ˹some˺ women ridicule other women, they may be better than them. ••••••••••••Walk in a humble manner (25:63)
"The ˹true˺ servants of the Most Compassionate are those who walk on the earth humbly, and when the foolish address them ˹improperly˺, they only respond with peace."
••••••••••••Respond to evil with good (41:34)
"Good and evil cannot be equal. Respond ˹to evil˺ with what is best, then the one you are in a feud with will be like a close friend."
••••••••••••Keep your trusts and promises (23:8)
"˹the believers are also˺ those who are true to their trusts and covenants;"

Don't insult others' false gods (6:108)
"˹O believers!˺ Do not insult what they invoke besides Allah or they will insult Allah spitefully out of ignorance. This is how We have made each people’s deeds appealing to them. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them of what they used to do."
••••••••••••Don't deceive people in trade (6:152)
"And do not come near the wealth of the orphan—unless intending to enhance it—until they attain maturity. Give full measure and weigh with justice. We never require of any soul more than what it can afford. Whenever you speak, maintain justice—even regarding a close relative. And fulfill your covenant with Allah. This is what He has commanded you, so perhaps you will be mindful."
••••••••••••Speak nicely, even to the ignorant (25:63)
"The ˹true˺ servants of the Most Compassionate are those who walk on the earth humbly, and when the foolish address them ˹improperly˺, they only respond with peace."
••••••••••••Don't ask unnecessary questions (5:101)
"O believers! Do not ask about any matter which, if made clear to you, may disturb you. But if you inquire about what is being revealed in the Quran, it will be made clear to you. Allah has forgiven what was done ˹in the past˺.1 And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Forbearing."
••••••••••••Don't be miserly nor extravagant (25:67)
"˹They are˺ those who spend neither wastefully nor stingily, but moderately in between."
••••••••••••Don't call others with bad names (49:11)
"O believers! Do not let some ˹men˺ ridicule others, they may be better than them, nor let ˹some˺ women ridicule other women, they may be better than them. Do not defame one another, nor call each other by offensive nicknames. How evil it is to act rebelliously after having faith! And whoever does not repent, it is they who are the ˹true˺ wrongdoers."
••••••••••••Don't claim yourselves to be pure (53:32)
"those who avoid major sins and shameful deeds, despite ˹stumbling on˺ minor sins. Surely your Lord is infinite in forgiveness. He knew well what would become of you as He created you from the earth1 and while you were ˹still˺ fetuses in the wombs of your mothers.2 So do not ˹falsely˺ elevate yourselves. He knows best who is ˹truly˺ righteous."

"The ˹true˺ servants of the Most Compassionate are those who walk on the earth humbly, and when the foolish address them ˹improperly˺, they only respond with peace."
••••••••••••Don't ask for repayment for favors (76:9)
"˹saying to themselves,˺ “We feed you only for the sake of Allah, seeking neither reward nor thanks from you."
••••••••••••Make room for others at gatherings (58:11)
"O believers! When you are told to make room in gatherings, then do so. Allah will make room for you ˹in His grace˺. And if you are told to rise, then do so. Allah will elevate those of you who are faithful, and ˹raise˺ those gifted with knowledge in rank. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do."
••••••••••••If an enemy wants peace, then accept it (8:61)
"If the enemy is inclined towards peace, make peace with them. And put your trust in Allah. Indeed, He ˹alone˺ is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing."
••••••••••••Return a greeting in a better manner (4:86)
"And when you are greeted, respond with a better greeting or at least similarly. Surely Allah is a ˹vigilant˺ Reckoner of all things."
••••••••••••Don't remind others of your favors (2:264)
"O believers! Do not waste your charity with reminders ˹of your generosity˺ or hurtful words, like those who donate their wealth just to show off and do not believe in Allah or the Last Day. Their example is that of a hard barren rock covered with a thin layer of soil hit by a strong rain—leaving it just a bare stone. Such people are unable to preserve the reward of their charity. Allah does not guide ˹such˺ disbelieving people."
••••••••••••Make peace between fighting groups (49:9)
"And if two groups of believers fight each other, then make peace between them. But if one of them transgresses against the other, then fight against the transgressing group until they ˹are willing to˺ submit to the rule of Allah. If they do so, then make peace between both ˹groups˺ in all fairness and act justly. Surely Allah loves those who uphold justice."

Lower your voice and talk moderately (31:19)
"Be moderate in your pace. And lower your voice, for the ugliest of all voices is certainly the braying of donkeys.”
••••••••••••Don’t let hatred cause you to be unjust (6:108)
“O believers!˺ Do not insult what they invoke besides Allah or they will insult Allah spitefully out of ignorance. This is how We have made each people’s deeds appealing to them. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them of what they used to do.
••••••••••••Don’t ask to many favors from people (2:273)
"`Charity is˺ for the needy who are too engaged in the cause of Allah to move about in the land ˹for work˺. Those unfamiliar with their situation will think they are not in need ˹of charity˺ because they do not beg. You can recognize them by their appearance. They do not beg people persistently. Whatever you give in charity is certainly well known to Allah.
••••••••••••Greet people when entering their home (24:27)
O believers! Do not enter any house other than your own until you have asked for permission and greeted its occupants. This is best for you, so perhaps you will be mindful.
••••••••••••Be just, even against yourself and relatives (4:135)
"O believers! Stand firm for justice as witnesses for Allah even if it is against yourselves, your parents, or close relatives. Be they rich or poor, Allah is best to ensure their interests. So do not let your desires cause you to deviate ˹from justice˺. If you distort the testimony or refuse to give it, then ˹know that˺ Allah is certainly All-Aware of what you do.”
••••••••••••Speak gently, even to leaders of disbelief (20:44)
"Speak to him gently, so perhaps he may be mindful ˹of Me˺ or fearful ˹of My punishment˺.”
••••••••••••Don’t criticize small contributions of others (9:79)
"˹There are˺ those who slander ˹some of˺ the believers for donating liberally and mock others for giving only the little they can afford. Allah will throw their mockery back at them, and they will suffer a painful punishment."

Christians and Jews
(People of the Book)

Bismillah ir-rahman ir-raheem
(In the name of God the most compassionate most merciful),
Islam recognizes Christians and Jews as people of the book.I will share a few ayats(verses) directly from the Quran in regards to this. The Jews say, “The Christians have nothing to stand on” and the Christians say, “The Jews have nothing to stand on,” although both recite the Scriptures. And those ˹pagans˺ who have no knowledge say the same ˹about people of faith˺. Surely Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment regarding their dispute. [2:113]Indeed, the believers, Jews, Sabians and Christians—whoever ˹truly˺ believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good, there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve. [5:69]Indeed, the believers, Jews, Christians, and Sabians—whoever ˹truly˺ believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good will have their reward with their Lord. And there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve. [2:62]Today all good things are made lawful for you. And the food of those given the Scripture is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them. So are chaste believing women, and chaste women from the people who were given the Scripture before you, provided you give them their dowries, and take them in marriage, not in adultery, nor as mistresses. But whoever rejects faith, his work will be in vain, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers. [5:5]We do not condemn Christians or Jews, we recognize them as people of the book, and as long as we are not attacked for our beliefs then there is no problem living in peace.

Prohibition of Pork

Bismillah ir-rahman ir-raheem
(In the name of God the most compassionate most merciful),
The Quran states:"He has only forbidden you ˹to eat˺ carrion, blood, swine, and what is slaughtered in the name of any other than Allah. But if someone is compelled by necessity—neither driven by desire nor exceeding immediate need—they will not be sinful. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful." [2:173]So God informs us don't consume it. He is our creator who has designed our bodies and knows what is best for us, while the reason hasn't been given in the Quran it is not something to really concern ourselves with as these where only a few things that where forbidden to us in a world full of beautiful foods we have been blessed with. However, He is also the most compassionate and merciful. He knows we may face challenges that may not be able to be avoided and with this, eases the worry of muslims by adding in the final part of the ayat "But if someone is compelled by necessity—neither driven by desire nor exceeding immediate need—they will not be sinful. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.".

Don’t call the Prophet how you call others’ (24:63)
"Do not treat the Messenger’s summons to you ˹as lightly˺ as your summons to one another.1 Allah certainly knows those of you who slip away, hiding behind others.2 So let those who disobey his orders beware, for an affliction may befall them, or a painful torment may overtake them.”
••••••••••••Try to make peace between Husband and Wife (4:128)
“If a woman fears indifference or neglect from her husband, there is no blame on either of them if they seek ˹fair˺ settlement, which is best. Humans are ever inclined to selfishness.1 But if you are gracious and mindful ˹of Allah˺, surely Allah is All-Aware of what you do.”
••••••••••••Those who can should continue to spend on those less fortunate (24:22)
"Do not let the people of virtue and affluence among you swear to suspend donations to their relatives, the needy, and the emigrants in the cause of Allah. Let them pardon and forgive. Do you not love to be forgiven by Allah? And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
••••••••••••Don’t enter homes without permission & return if refused entry (24:27-28)
“O believers! Do not enter any house other than your own until you have asked for permission and greeted its occupants. This is best for you, so perhaps you will be mindful.
If you find no one at home, do not enter it until you have been given permission. And if you are asked to leave, then leave. That is purer for you. And Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of what you do.”••••••••••••Don’t sit with those who mock religion until they change the subject (4:140)
"He has already revealed to you in the Book that when you hear Allah’s revelations being denied or ridiculed, then do not sit in that company unless they engage in a different topic, or else you will be like them. Surely Allah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell.”
••••••••••••Say it’s not appropriate to talk of slander when it’s mentioned to you (24:16)
"If only you had said upon hearing it, “How can we speak about such a thing! Glory be to You ˹O Lord˺! This is a heinous slander!”
••••••••••••If required to ask the Prophet’s wives, then do so from behind a screen (33:53)
"O believers! Do not enter the homes of the Prophet without permission ˹and if invited˺ for a meal, do not ˹come too early and˺ linger until the meal is ready. But if you are invited, then enter ˹on time˺. Once you have eaten, then go on your way, and do not stay for casual talk. Such behaviour is truly annoying to the Prophet, yet he is too shy to ask you to leave. But Allah is never shy of the truth. And when you ˹believers˺ ask his wives for something, ask them from behind a barrier. This is purer for your hearts and theirs. And it is not right for you to annoy the Messenger of Allah, nor ever marry his wives after him. This would certainly be a major offence in the sight of Allah."

Divorce in an amicable manner instead of keeping and harming your wife (2:231)
"When you divorce women and they have ˹almost˺ reached the end of their waiting period, either retain them honourably or let them go honourably. But do not retain them ˹only˺ to harm them ˹or˺ to take advantage ˹of them˺. Whoever does that surely wrongs his own soul. Do not take Allah’s revelations lightly. Remember Allah’s favours upon you as well as the Book and wisdom He has sent down for your guidance. Be mindful of Allah, and know that Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things.”
••••••••••••Punish in an equivalent manner to how you where harmed or be patient (16:126)
“If you retaliate, then let it be equivalent to what you have suffered. But if you patiently endure, it is certainly best for those who are patient”
••••••••••••Differences in color and languages is signs of Allah, not means of superiority (49:13)
"O humanity! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another. Surely the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you. Allah is truly All-Knowing, All-Aware.”
••••••••••••Don’t take women by force, nor take back bridal gifts without a valid reason & live with them in kindness (4:19)
“O believers! It is not permissible for you to inherit women against their will1 or mistreat them to make them return some of the dowry ˹as a ransom for divorce˺—unless they are found guilty of adultery.2 Treat them fairly. If you happen to dislike them, you may hate something which Allah turns into a great blessing.”
••••••••••••Don’t call the Prophet from outside his rooms (49:4)
"Indeed, most of those who call out to you ˹O Prophet˺ from outside ˹your˺ private quarters have no understanding ˹of manners˺.”
••••••••••••Oppression/corruption is worse then killing (2:217)
"They1 ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about fighting in the sacred months.2 Say, “Fighting during these months is a great sin. But hindering ˹others˺ from the Path of Allah, rejecting Him, and expelling the worshippers from the Sacred Mosque is ˹a˺ greater ˹sin˺ in the sight of Allah. For persecution3 is far worse than killing. And they will not stop fighting you until they turn you away from your faith—if they can. And whoever among you renounces their own faith and dies a disbeliever, their deeds will become void in this life and in the Hereafter. It is they who will be the residents of the Fire. They will be there forever.”
••••••••••••Preach to others in a good and wise manner (16:125)
"˹ Invite ˹all˺ to the Way of your Lord with wisdom and kind advice, and only debate with them in the best manner. Surely your Lord ˹alone˺ knows best who has strayed from His Way and who is ˹rightly˺ guided."

Tri-Fold Booklet

The Hijab

Bismillah ir-rahman ir-raheem
(In the name of God the most compassionate most merciful),
The Quran states:
And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity, and not to reveal their adornments1 except what normally appears.2 Let them draw their veils over their chests, and not reveal their ˹hidden˺ adornments3 except to their husbands, their fathers, their fathers-in-law, their sons, their stepsons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons or sisters’ sons, their fellow women, those ˹bondwomen˺ in their possession, male attendants with no desire, or children who are still unaware of women’s nakedness. Let them not stomp their feet, drawing attention to their hidden adornments. Turn to Allah in repentance all together, O believers, so that you may be successful. [24:31]
Something interesting for you to note. Men where spoken to first on a ruling before the women. The ayat that was revealed before the above ayat states:
˹O Prophet!˺ Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their chastity. That is purer for them. Surely Allah is All-Aware of what they do. [24:30]
This video shares Hijab in a meaning that fits more than my own words could convey.

A common statement made against the Hijab ayat is that many people can be under the impression that it is not referencing woman to cover there heads. While I have not gone in to great detail to explain this I have shared 2 videos below that refutes this argument.

There are so many good videos that touch on this topic and while I would like to share with you all of them - I have narrowed it down to a couple of points.1. I don't won't to overload you with information when I have supplied enough and 2. This is a journey all muslim women will take and I don't want to take that full journey away from you.Woman are not forced into wearing a head cover. The choice is up to the woman alone. However, the ayat of Quran is clear with understanding. You have a freedom of choice to obey. Whether you choose to are not does not remove you from being a muslim. I am aware there are some countries where the law is to cover and I do not feel as though I am qualified to speak further on this. So I encourage you to continue this journey if you feel further inclined too.
